Juventus started the match with seven members from the Champions League final side, which lost to FC Barcelona 3-1 in Berlin. However, it was the Bundesliga side, who started the game with some attacking verve, testing the legendary Ginaluigi Buffon through Kevin Kampl, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and then Aubameyang, with the Italian able to deny the opposition on all of the occasions.

New signing Mario Mandzukic should have put the Old Lady in front, but he headed over from close range from a Paulo dybala free-kick. However, die Schwarzgelben finally opened the scoring, when Aubameyang buried the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, after a precise pass from Mkhitaryan, from a move started by the Gabon striker.

With plenty of changes at half time, the game lost a bit of it’s edge, however, German international and Real Madrid target Marco Reus brought the game back to life, with a scintillating run from within his own half, as he tore through the Bianconeri defence before nut-megging Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci and applying a powerful finish past debutant goal-keeper Neto. A couple of chances fell to either side’s towards the end of the game, but neither of the teams could capitalize.
