[Video] Jamie Vardy Breaks Manchester United Legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s Record Against Red Devils

The entirety of the footballing world (except perhaps Manchester United fans) were hoping, neigh praying that Leicester City FC striker Jamie Vardy scores the goal that would make him the first player in Premier League history to score a goal in 11 consecutive matches.

What makes this moment more special is the fact that, just three years ago, Vardy used to play non-league football at Fleetwood town. This makes for a great rags-to-riches story and Vardy made the fairy tale come true.

He treated all the fans who where hoping for him to score when, on the 24th minute, Leicester City broke off into one of their characteristic counter attacks and the 28-year-old Englishman latched on to a through ball from Christian Fuchs, hammering it past a hapless David De Gea.

With this, Vardy breaks the previous record of 10 goals from 10 consecutive games by Ruud van Nistelrooy who, ironically, achieved the record while playing for Manchester United.

Here is a video of that historic goal.
