Cristiano Ronaldo starred for Real Madrid in yesterday’s 6-0 demolition of Espanyol. The Portuguese scored all but one of the goals scored by Los Blancos.
Karim Benzema scored the only other goal as Real hit six past Espanyol. Ronaldo, who had been struggling for goal-scoring form recently, having not scored in the last four games for club and country, announced his return to form in style.
The 30-year-old striker also surpassed former great Raul to be Real Madrid’s top scorer in La Liga history.
Ronaldo netted a 20-min first half hattrick, before adding twice to his tally in the second half. This was only the second time in his career that the former Manchester United man had scored 5 goals in a match.
