A last-minute deflected Divock Origi strike earned a point for Liverpool FC at home against Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion, with the Reds’ failure to emulate their away form at home under new manager JA?rgen Klopp once again evident.
However, all the talk after the game was centred around the home side’s unusual acknowledgement of the home crowd, with Klopp instructing his players to link arms and pay tribute to the Anfield supporters.
The German earlier expressed his sadness at watching fans leave early during the Reds’ 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield, and the reaction after the game against West Brom was indicative of changing times.
The former Dortmund manager’s bond with the fans at the Westfalenstadion was world-renowned during his time at the club, and it appears as though Klopp is attempting to build a similar relationship with the Anfield faithful.
While Liverpool FC fans were understandably quite taken with the gesture, the same could not be said of others, who mocked the Reds for what they claimed was an over-the-top reaction after a poor result at home.
