Liverpool FC fans took to twitter to express their delight on the news that Mamadou Sakho had signed a new deal at Anfield that will keep him at the club till the year 2020.
Sakho had less than two years remaining on his contract and recent reports indicated that the player was less than pleased with the fact that Dejan Lovren was being preferred to him, despite being the best defender by the books for the Reds last season. Sakho was finally given his chance in the Europa League tie against Bordeaux and he showed why he is so highly regarded by the fans.
‘Mama’ as he is known, has now extended his contract till 2020 after having initially stalled signing the deal.
Liverpool fans were ecstatic on hearing the news and took to twitter to express it.
