Treble Not Enough, FC Barcelona Manager Luis Enrique Wants To Win Sextuple

.

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has set his sights on winning all six trophies on offer in the 2015-16 season for the treble winners.

a We will put in a great [effort] as long as everyone in the squad is efficient. The objective is to repeat the success [of last season],a Enrique was quoted saying by FCBarcelona.com.

The former midfielder added, a The treble is now in the past, now we are interested in six trophies.a

“Second seasons are usually better. There is the base work and I am convinced that the team can improve in several aspects. The motivation is there to be better than our opponents via continual development, if you stand still you get burned.a

Luis Enrique expressed his delight at the arrivals of Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan and was quoted saying: a I am very happy with the players brought in and I take this opportunity to congratulate the Managing Commission for signing of Arda Turan. The operation was key for us.a

a He knows the league perfectly, he can beat players, ita s difficult to get the ball from him and also he offers us things defensively. He strengthens us and offers competition. The same for Aleix Vidal, he is great signing, and he will make us better.”

In an extra-ordinary first season as the manager, the 45-year-old helped FC Barcelona to their second continental treble – winning La Liga, EUFA Champions Trophy and Copa del Rey and is now hoping to repeat the sextuple that only once a football club has achieved – Pep Guardiola’s FC Barcelona side on 2009.

FC Barcelona will be facing off Seville in the European Super Cup, with Real Madrid potentially a big hurdle in Enrique’s dream of winning a sextuple in not only La Liga, Champions League, and the Spanish Cup, but also in the Spanish Super Cup.

Having won the Champion’s League, the club will take part in Club World Championship in December.

FC Barcelona certainly do have a fantastic squad to go on and achieve an incredible sextuple with Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez the key to it having bagged an incredible 122 goals despite Luis Suarez missing the action till October.
