Tottenham Set To Offer Harry Kane A New Long-Term Contract

Harry Kane is in sensational form at the moment

Tottenham will ensure that the club’s latest academy star Harry Kane will stay with the club as they are set to offer an improved contract that will keep him at the club despite offering him a five-year contract just six months ago.

Kane’s stock has risen after an impressive campaign where he has scored 20 goals in all competitions in 33 appearances. Manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed that Kane wants to stay at the club after making a successful breakthrough this season, “This is a club decision and the player’s decision. This is business, but Harry wants to stay with Tottenham and Tottenham want Harry to stay long term.”

Kane had loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester before making his first appearance for Tottenham in the Premier League during the 2012-13 campaign. Last season, he made 10 appearances and scored thrice, but it has been this season where he has truly shown the world that he can play in the top flight and trouble defenses with his pace, strength and incredible finishing ability.

Kane’s current wages are A?20,000. He is set to earn double that amount after he signs the new contract as it’ll take his wages up to A?40,000. The 21-year old scored twice in Tottenham’s recent win over West Brom and could be a key player for them as they compete for a top-four spot and a trophy in the Europa League and the Capital One Cup.

Pochettino happy with the performance against West Brom

It not often that a Tony Pulis side gets beaten by three goals as they are usually well drilled. However, a Christian Eriksson free-kick started the rout for Tottenham.

Manager Pochettino revealed that after the joy of reaching the Capital Cup final, it was important to keep the momentum going in the Premier League, a Ita s an important game for us. After getting to the final, ita s time to continue to fight in the same way in the Premier League.

a West Brom is a tough team, they have a new manager in Tony Pulis, a good friend of mine, and we have a difficult game ahead.

a A new manager will always put his ideas to the team and play in a different way. That is always a danger but we need to be focused on our game.

a We have a lot of games ahead in the next weeks, all different, all difficult. We need to be focused on every game and we start at West Brom,a he added.
