Tottenham Hotspur won the three points against Leicester City but Pochettino had mixed emotions about the result.
Tottenham Hotspur started the game on song as Harry Kane struck twice in the first fifteen minutes to give the home side a comfortable advantage. However, Leicester City hit back through Jamie Vardy before half-time and then levelled via Wes Morgana s header five minutes into the second half.
It was Harry Kane again to the rescue of Spurs as the Englishman converted from the spot to get his first hat-trick in the league. Tottenham extended their lead again at the 85th minute mark when Eriksen forced an own goal from Jeffrey Schlupp. But the away side gave Spurs a tough fight as they scored another goal on 90 minutes, making the added three minutes tough for Tottenham.
Speaking about the win, Pochettino said: a It was important to get the three points and to come back in a positive way after the defeat against Manchester United. Ia m happy with the win.
a We need to analyse the game and take the positives but we also need to improve because we suffered so much.
a At 2-0, we believed the game was finished but we conceded one goal and then it went to 2-2 in the second half. Then at 4-2 maybe the game was finished again, but we conceded another goal in the 90th minute and then suffered again for the last three minutes.
a Ita s about experience. I think we had some very good moments but we conceded three goals and thata s too much at home, so we need to improve defensively.a
The manager also praised youngster Harry Kane, who, with his hat-trick, is leading the top-scorer list by one goal. The hat-trick was Kanea s first in the Premier League and it has taken his tally of the season to 29.
Pochettino said: a Congratulations to him, ita s a very good thing for all strikers and for Harry ita s his first in the Premier League. Wea re all happy for him.a
On the other hand, Pochettino confirmed that Hugo Lloris, who had to be subbed off in just four after the game started, had been sent to the hospital as a precaution for the gash on the knee he sustained in the first minute of the game.
The win leaves Tottenham Hotspur level on points with sixth-placed Southampton, just one point behind fifth-placed Liverpool and three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United. However, Tottenham have a long battle ahead, if they wish to make it to one of the top-four spots.
