Theo Walcott Names The One Player Who Has ‘Revolutionized’ Arsenal

Walcott is in a good vein of form

Arsenal Forward Theo Walcott has stated that the arrival of veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech at the Emirates Stadium has revolutionised the football club and added an extra dimension to their defence.

.

Petr Cech recently equaled the Premier League record for most clean sheets, after the Gunners’ 2-0 win over struggling Aston Villa, which was previously held by English keeper David James. His addition to the Arsenal side has been one of the best transfers conducted over the summer and forward Theo Walcott recently spoke out about the 33 year old keeper.

a From when we signed him, we all knew how good he was [after] what he achieved at Chelsea,a Walcott told Arsenala s official website, according to Goal.com.

Theo also spoke about his effect on the defence and overall presence in the team.

a On a personal level, for him ita s great. Hea s changed us completely in that back four. Hea s a talker, he believes in us all. Thata s why he wanted to join us and having with that presence behind you is always nice to have. Hea s very commanding, hea s a leader in the dressing room as well, he always likes to talk.a , he said.

The Missing Link

One of the biggest headaches that Arsenal have faced in the past few years has been the need of a world class goalkeeper. Ever since the departure of club legend Jens Lehmann in 2008, the club has been severely lacking in that department, with David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny always somehow falling short of expectations.

But the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea has changed all that. The Gunners now know that they have a world class goalkeeper in front of their goal and this will help them play better football without leaking in unnecessary goals.
