Theo Walcott believes Arsenal FC are ready to win trophies consistently, and reckons the feeling is shared in the Gunners’ dressing room.

Theo Walcott, who recently signed a new contract to stay at the London club, believes Arsenal FC are ready to win trophies consistently once again following their back-to-back FA Cup and Community Shield triumphs over the last two seasons.

‘We should be winning things every year’

Walcott believes that with the squad together for sometime now, Arsenal FC will be challenging for titles every year with the dressing room sharing his sentiments.

He was quoted saying by ESPN FC: “Solidarity is the sign of a successful team. When players stay and stick together you see the success come out.

“You look at the old Manchester United and Arsenal sides and they were teams who stayed together. They just built on success after every year.”

“That’s what I want to be part of and that’s what I think I can be part of because this club deserves to be there. It’s a massive club and we should be winning things every year. I believe that we will. That’s the sense in the dressing room and everyone is completely ready, confident and ready for the season.”

“I love this club”

Walcott says that his love for the club was the reason he signed the new deal.

Theo Walcott, 26, went onto reveal that his love for the club was the reason he chose to sign a new contract with the Gunners.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing for this club, I love this club. I’ve been here nearly 10 years now and it’s my second home,” Walcott was quoted saying by ESPN FC.

“The manager has been fantastic to me. The players, the coaching staff, everyone at the club itself, the people that you don’t see on the inside and, most importantly, the fans have all been amazing.

“The Emirates is a great stadium to play your football in and this team is very special. I think we can go places this year and move on from the success of the FA Cup. I want to be a part of that.”

Can Arsenal FC win the league?

Arsenal FC have not won the league since 2004. One look at the squad over the past few season, and you could say that they have always had the squad to win the league.

However, they have been undone by injuries in crucial stages of their title march and begin the season with Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck out injured.

A Telegraph report had confirmed that Arsenal had suffered more injuries than any other Premier League side.

The report said:

With 25 injuries, Arsenal have had more than any other Premier League club since August. Perhaps even more revealing, however, is the total number of days lost to significant injury. In the decade since 2004-5, Arsenal players have lost 13,161 days to injury. Only Newcastle have lost more at 13,344.

Arsene Wenger’s training methods were questioned by Fitness coach Raymond Verheijen, who had blamed Wenger for the Arsenal injury record.
