Raheem Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward has added more fuel to the ongoing Raheem Sterling storm in Merseyside by claiming he doesn’t care one bit about the club or its PR and the player is out of Liverpool, the club can try all they want.
20-year-old Sterling has turned down a A?100,000-a-week deal and has gone public about it too. He is set to have a crunch meeting with manager Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre tomorrow.
His agent, Aidy Ward, has been accused by many former players, pundits and media outlets as the person misguiding him and Ward has gone public about not caring about these views and that Sterling won’t sign a new contract even if the Reds offered A?900,000 a week to him.
He said: a I dona t care about the PR of the club and the club situation. I dona t care.
a He is definitely not signing. Hea s not signing for A?700, A?800, A?900 thousand a week. He is not signing.
a My job is to make sure I do the best with them (my clients). If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised it does not matter.a
Former Liverpool defender and present Sky pundit Jamie Carragher blasted the player for his actions and Ward has sensationally called the former player a “knob” and his criticism, along with any pundit or ex-Liverpool player’s, “not relevant”.
a Carragher is a knob. Everybody knows it. Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players – none of them things matter to me. It is not relevant.a
Ward said Sterling would not move to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich, and suggested Chelsea or Manchester City were the most likely destinations.
He added, a I am not worried. Worried is making a decision not knowing what is going to happen. Every premier league club will make a bid for him.a
