Securing a defender is on top of Uniteda s agenda, with Sergio Ramos said to be their priority target.

However, Florentino Perez then met the unsettled defender, making it clear to him that he is not for sale under any circumstance.

No Real Madrid – Sergio Ramos agreement

Spanish Radio station Cadena Ser have reported that Ramos is yet to sign a new deal at the Spanish club.

The reports says that negotiations are continuing between Real Madrid and Sergio Ramos, but they are yet to reach any agreement. There seems to be a disagreement upon the 10 million Euros fee that the defender wants. Madrid on the other hand are in no hurry of renewing the player’s contract that runs for 2 and half more years, with a buy out clause of around 180-200 million Euros.

Based on the Spanish reports, English newspaper Express has claimed that Real Madrid captain is still keen on a move to Old Trafford.

Following the reports that Sergio Ramos is now set to sign a new deal at Real Madrid, it remains to be seen if Manchester United would let David De Gea go, having made it clear to Real Madrid they would only sell the goalkeeper should they agree to sell Sergio Ramos to them.

However, the poor performance by de Gea in the pre-season tie led manager van Gaal to say that the player was distracted, an incident that seemed to have further pushed the club to sell the player.

The De Gea – Sergio Ramos exchange deal could be back on after days of stalemate, if the reports in Spain are to be believed and Manchester United have now become more open to the deal following van Gaal’s comments.
