The internet isn’t quite a forgiving place, and that was proven once again with Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney trolled on Twitter for his miss in the Red Devils’ Champions League fixture against CSKA Moscow.
Manchester United put an end to their three match goal-scoring drought, as they beat CSKA Moscow 1-0 on Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League. Wayne Rooney, who personally was also suffering from a goal drought, headed it past Igor Akinfeev to draw level with Denis Law as the all-time leading goalscorer for the Red Devils.
Rooney, who has been subject to much criticism for his lack of goals, begun the match positively and tried his luck as early as in the third minute of the match. Rooney was trolled on Twitter for his goal drought but here are a few of the top tweets after his goal helped United defeat their Russian oppoenents.
