Ronaldo Lashes Out At Neymar, ‘It is Not Justified What He Has Done’

Brazil legend Ronaldo has criticised the conduct of FC Barcelona star Neymar following the red card he received in the aftermath of his side’s defeat to Colombia in the Copa America.

The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan star was not impressed with the 23-year-old’s conduct after the 1-0 defeat to Colombia, after which he was sent off.

Neymar is set to miss his side’s crucial final group game against Venezuela with the group on knife’s edge after been given a provisional suspension on top of the a red card he received after the final whistle.

The CONMEBOL can yet extend the ban to more than one game.

The 23-year-old FC Barcelona star kicked the ball at Colombia’s leftback Pablo Armero on the final whistle and then attempted to headbutt the Colombian goalscorer Jeison Murillo, which led a scuffle on the field that also saw Carlos Bacca of Seville sent off.

Neymar defended his conduct by saying that referees were against him and trying to provoke him, with the Brazil Football Federation (CBF) set to argue an extended ban on the FC Barcelona star by invoking the linesman calling him ‘a diver’ argument.

However, former Real Madrid star and Brazil legend Ronaldo had no sympathy for the FC Barcelona star and was not impressed by the Selecao captain’s conduct.

“It’s not justified, what he has said and done,” the former Real Madrid star said on Brazil online news portal Globesport. “Currently he is going through a tough time.

“He is acting very aggressively and he is not accepting anything that happens. In the Brazil jersey, you cannot do that.”
