Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo extolled former manager Carlo Ancelotti’s personality, admitting that he wishes to work with the Italian again one day
One of Carlo Ancelotti’s biggest strengths has been the ability to bring a squad together and manage egos in the dressing room, and his time at Real Madrid was an indication of that. It comes as no surprise then, that Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was gushing in his praise for the Italian — specifically his ‘unbelievable’ personality.

Ronaldo also expressed his desire to work again with the former Chelsea FC manager, who is currently without a club, but is likely to re-enter the arena in the summer, when a number of top clubs across Europe could be looking for a new manager.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ESPN, Ronaldo said: “Mr. Ancelotti was an unbelievable surprise. In the beginning I though he was more a tough person, more… kind of arrogant , and it was the opposite.
“He’s like a big bear, I can say. He’s a cute guy, such a sensitive person. He spoke with us every day. Not just with me but with all the players. He had fun with us.
“He’s an unbelievable person. I just wish every player could have an opportunity to work with him because he’s a fantastic guy, a fantastic coach and I miss him a lot because we won many trophies together.
“And I wish to work with him one day again. But now I’m good. I have a new coach and I’m happy too, but it’s great I have good memories.”
Rafael Ben tez a jarring contrast to the Italian
The former Liverpool FC manager is very different to Ancelotti, and although he is an excellent manager in his own right, he simply does not have the charm or charisma of the Italian, nor the same ability to endear himself to the big egos in the squad.
Several star names have already hinted their discontent in public, including the likes of Toni Kroos, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodr guez, and it appears as though the Spaniard’s style will take some getting used to for the players.
Carlo Ancelotti remains arguably the best in the world at managing big egos in the dressing room, and as such, was perfect for the Real Madrid role. Even though there is no question that he underperformed in the league, perhaps Florentino P rez would have been better served to stick with the Italian for a little while longer.
