The Bayern Munich winger has urged manager Pep Guardiola to stay with the Bavarian giants beyond this season, with the Spaniard linked with a move to the Premier League after his current contract runs out at the end of the season
Where former FC Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola will ply his trade next season is anybody’s guess at the moment, with the Spaniard thus far neither committing his future to Bayern Munich nor confirming that he will leave the club in the summer.
The rumours about a potential move to Premier League champions Manchester City have been persistent, but it appears that if the Bayern Munich players had their way, Guardiola would be continuing with the Bundesliga champions.

Robben urges Guardiola to continue at Bayern Munich
Dutch winger Arjen Robben was widely tipped to leave the club when Guardiola first arrived, given the former Chelsea FC attacker’s propensity for ignoring his team-mates on the pitch during attacking plays. However, the Dutchman’s directness and ability to beat defenders one on one has been extremely important for Bayern.
Robben spoke recently about his willingness to continue working with Guardiola, saying (via Daily Mail): “We have one of the best coaches in the world. As many of our players have said, we all want him to stay. It is a lot of fun working with him.”
The Dutchman also rates the 44-year-old as the best coach in the world in a tactical sense. “Tactically he is maybe the best,” added Robben. “And I don’t say that just because he is our coach at the moment.”
Guardiola’s potential transfer will be the most talked-about move of the summer
It is not often that there is so much anticipation and excitement about a manager’s move, but given what Guardiola has already achieved in the game at a relatively young age for a manager, the football world will hold its collective breath as he ponders over what move to make — if indeed he does choose to move.
Manchester City could be a potential destination, as also Manchester United, if the Red Devils decide that it is too good an opportunity to miss out on. Chelsea FC could be thrown into the mix as well if Jos Mourinho is sacked in the summer, and given Blues’ owner Roman Abramovich has already made attempts to lure Guardiola to Stamford Bridge before, there is every chance he will try again if he wants to look for a new manager.
Guardiola staying at Bayern Munich is also a possibility that cannot be ruled out at the moment, but if the club does indeed announce that that is what his decision is during the winter break in Germany, it will make for a rather anticlimactic end to a potentially months-long saga.
