Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has revealed that he finds it surprising when he hears about reports of Barcelona being in a crisis and added that his side have enough quality at the moment and will not need someone like Lionel Messi even if he was available.
Recent reports have emerged that Barcelona are in a mini turmoil after a succession of events when they sacked their director of football Andoni Zubizarreta which subsequently led to former captain Carlos Puyol’s resignation. There were also certain reports indicating that manager Luis Enrique has fallen out with Lionel Messi which could possibly lead to a transfer. Casillas however believes that the situation is being exaggerated and told Cadena Cope, “I dona t know if ita s true [regarding Messi and Enrique].

With a plethora of stars at their club, it does seem very far-fetched for Messi to join the Los Blancos. Real Madrid have the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale who were signed for huge sums of money in recent years. Messi has been at Barcelona for the whole of his playing career, so it does seem unlikely that he’ll join the old enemy even if they made an offer for him. Another important factor that needs to be considered is Barcelona’s transfer embargo. With Barcelona being handed a transfer ban recently, it’s unlikely that they’ll sell any of their key players.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti responded in a completely opposite manner when compared to Casillas’ comments on Messi as he feels that any team would want Messi in their side even if they possessed sufficient quality already, a Everyone has their opinion, and I appreciate what he said, but ita s difficult to discuss Messi. I think any team in the world would have room for him.a
