Real Madrid Starlet Martin Odegaard Looking for Loan Move In January

He might have made his high-profile move from Norwegian Tippeligaen side Stromsgodset IF to Real Madrid in Spain, but Martin Odegaard already seems to be wanting a loan move away from the Spanish giants in order to improve himself.

Odegaard, who is still just 16 years old, has already made seven appearances for the Norwegian national team, and is considered a prodigious talent in the Scandinavian country. However, after being signed by the Los Blancos earlier this year, Odegaard was relegated to the Real Madrid B team, which plays in the Segunda B, the third tier of Spanish football.

Even there though, the teenage Norwegian has found it difficult to cement a place in the first team squad. Odegaard was called up to represent the first team side a couple of times, but both of those were pre-season friendlies.

Thus, the 16-year-old Norwegian is believed to be looking for a short-term loan move away from the club in order to get more playing time, according to Sky Sports.

Although the young midfielder is looking for a loan move, he is reportedly quite happy with his current situation at Real Madrid, as he believes that age is on his side.

“I’m 16, I’m handling things as best I can and I have a long road ahead of me,” said Odegaard. “I’m in no hurry and there’s no reason for me to get stressed. Segunda B is a difficult division because there are lots of tough opponents and the pitches are often very bad.”

Odegaard had been linked with a loan move to Getafe earlier this summer, but the final deal did not go through. However, a loan opportunity in the winter could help the Norwegian prodigy prove his talent to the football world.
