The former Manchester United skipper criticised Gareth Bale for being ineffective in Real Madrida s defeat to Juventus in the first leg of the Champions League.
After a dismal performance against Juventus, Roy Keane was highly critical about Real Madrid winger Gareth Balea s contribution throughout the game. The Irishman said that the forward “gave absolutely nothing” during his side’s 2-1 defeat at Juventus.a
Coming back from injury, Bale had a very bad day in the office against Juventus in Turin. The Welshman had 0 shots on target and none of his passes created a chance for his teammates. His poor performance has been met with a lot of criticism throughout the Spanish and English media.
However, Balea s agent has spoken out in defence of the winger and said that Keanea s comments hold no relevance.
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, told BBC: “Why should we take any notice of irrelevant comments from people who don’t know what they are talking about and people who failed in management?”
Roy Keane managed Sunderland, Ipswich and Aston Villa and currently works as an assistant manager for Ireland. The former United player was sacked by Ipswich after just 20 months of being in charge.
Barnett defend Bale and also dismissed speculation about his future by claiming that the Welshman is at the biggest club and is one of the best players in the world.
“Gareth only listens to relevant comments,a Barnett added.
“He is at the biggest club in the world. He is one of the best players in the world. He is fine.”
