Real Madrid Bring Casemiro Back After FC Porto Loan Spell

Real Madrid bought back Casemiro after the midfieldera s loan spell at FC Porto came to an end.

Casemiro went on a season-long loan to FC Porto and put in some impressive displays for the Portuguese club. Porto decided to keep hold of Casemiro by exercising the chance to buy the Brazilian for a 15 million.

However, Real Madrid triggered a clause in his contract which allowed them to buy back the midfielder after paying a 7.5 million to Porto before 5th June. The 23-year old was impressive in his season-long spell with the Portuguese giants in which he made 41 appearances and scored four goals for the club.

Real Madrid released an official statement announcing the midfieldera s return to the club. The statement on the cluba s website read: a Real Madrid C. F. has exercised the option to salvage federative rights on the player Casemiro, after FC Porto stated that his buy back clause had been activated. . a

Casemiro joined Real Madrid in January 2013 from Brazilian club Sao Paolo on loan. He played for the Castilla for the rest of the season before making a permanent move to the senior squad in the summer for a 6 million. However, the youngster did not figure in Ancelottia s plans and remained behind Alonso, Modric, Khedira and Illarramendi in the pecking order. He was subsequently loaned to FC Porto in 2014.

After the sacking of Ancelotti and the arrival of Benitez it seems like Casemiro will get his chance at the Madrid-based club. Khedira has left on a free transfer and Illarramendi might follow the German and exit the club. In such a situation it seems like Casemiro will play a vital role under Benitez, considering the former Liverpool manager likes to rotate his squad often.
