Manchester United target Sergio Ramos is not happy at the Santiago Bernabeu and contract talks between Real Madrid and the player have stalled due his disillusionment with life at Santiago Bernabeu, according to former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon.
Sergio Ramos is entering the final two years of his contract with Real Madrid and the Spain international has emerged as a serious transfer target for Manchester United according to reports in the Guardian.
.
The report says:
Manchester United have responded to Real Madrida s bid for David de Gea by telling the Spanish club they want to sign Sergio Ramos, the Guardian understands.
The interest emerged after reports in the Spanish media that the player was far from happy at Real Madrid.
Spanish media outlet AS reported that Sergio Ramos was looking to leave the club after being annoyed at the fact that Real Madrid didna t clear anything up after FC Barcelona presidential-candidate, Jordi MajA? shocking comments that claimed the player was offered to him by his agent.
Sergio Ramos was already involved in a contract standoff with Real Madrid, with Florentino Perez refusing to increase his wages to the desired a 10 million a year sum.
The former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has now suggested that the contract talks have stalled because of the player’s disillusionment.
“It’s clear that Ramos isn’t happy because the president hasn’t offered him a contract extension,” Calderon told talkSPORT.
“To me it seems as though it is a public dressing down over his support for Carlo Ancelotti and for saying that he did not agree he should have been sacked. The same thing with Iker Casillas.”
“Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks. He is an icon for Real Madrid fans, on and off the pitch,” Calderon added.
“I don’t know if he is the best central defender in the world but he is one of the best. He can play in the middle of defence, on the right or in midfield.”
There were some suggestions that Manchester United could offer upto 30 million pounds plus David De Gea for Sergio Ramos to Real Madrid. It remains to be seen how much truth is there in that one, given that it is indeed an incredible offer to make.
This saga is sure to continue, though, with Manchester United in search of a defender, and Sergio Ramos far from being happy at Real Madrid who are interested in the former’s goalkeeper David de Gea.
