Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo feels that Manchester United’s treatment of Paul Pogba could mean that he’ll never return to the club.
Pogba had a three-year spell at Manchester United but couldn’t make the senior squad despite some impressive displays for their u21 side. He subsequently made the switch to Serie A giants Juventus for a free transfer in 2012 and since then his development has been massive. The Frenchman was named the Golden boy player of the year for 2013 has acheived a lot despite being just 21 years of age. The United faithful would love to see Pogba return after seeing what he has done in the last two years and he is someone that they could use as their midfield has lacked a special player since the departure of Paul Scholes.
Pogba has been linked with a return to Manchester United by various British tabloids, but his teammate Andrea Pirlo feels that such a move is very very unlikely. He told Telefoot that he cannot see him returning based on how Manchester United treated him a few years ago despite knowing his potential, a For whatever reason they chose not to give him a chance and that is a mistake they will have to live with now.
“I can’t see that he will ever return to Manchester United. When he first joined us in training at Juventus we knew there was something about him, and in just two years he has become one of the best players in the world.
Pirlo also admitted that Pogba will attract interest from other European powerhouses, but went on to add that he is already at one of the biggest clubs in Italy and Europe, a Of course he is going to have options, he knows that. You can’t play at the level he is and not attract attention.
a But he also knows that at Juventus he is already at one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
a I have spoken with him, and told him if he carries on working hard and makes the right decisions there is no limit to what he can achieve.”
Pogba’s impressive performances for his side earned him a new contract in October last year that runs till 2019 with wages in excess of A?70,000-a-week. The 21-year old has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season and has managed to score eight goals in the process. He has helped his side open a seven-point gap at the top in the League.
