Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marco Reus Bound To Borussia Dortmund By Unusual ‘Transfer Pact’

In spite of all the interest from the big clubs from across Europe, Borussia Dortmund can feel safe about two of their most prized possessions, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Reus, who reportedly have a transfer pact with each other.

Yes, the Gabon striker seems to have made a pact with Reus, aimed at keeping the duo in the same team for as long as possible.

“There is an oath of allegiance of the two pals! Aubameyang has promised that he will not leave the club as long as he can play alongside Reus,” wrote Heiko Ostendorp for German Publication Bild.

Aubameyang-Reus agreement to put off other clubs?

The duo has been instrumental in Dortmund’s strong start to the Bundesliga season, as well as the free-flowing, exciting football the team have played thus far. The two have already scored 21 goals between themselves, and are highly sought after by other top clubs.

However, an agreement like this would have all but put these clubs off Aubameyang and Reus, as Borussia Dortmund would surely not sell both of them in quick succession.

Similar contract durations

.

Not only do Reus and Aubameyang have this agreement, but they also have similar time-spans left on their contracts.

While the German international has committed to the club till 2019, Aubemayang’s contract keeps him at Dortmund till 2020, as both the players look to benefit from the presence of one another in the team.

“Even at Reus’ extension Aubameyang had said that he will definitely remain at BVB the coming season, despite some inquiries from abroad,” wrote Ostendorp in his report.

Well, as long as these two players honour their agreement, the Borussia Dortmund fans would have a great time at the Westfalenstadion for the coming seasons.
