Official: Manchester United Agree A?15m Schweinsteiger Fee ; Fans Ecstatic

Bayern Munich’s Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Manchester United and the German champions have agreed to a fee for Bastian Schweinsteiger reported to be in the region of 15 million pound.

 

Bayern’s Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirming the move said: “My colleagues at Manchester United have been in touch. We’ve reached an agreement over a transfer.”

“Bastian wants to do something new at the end of his career. He asked that we meet his wishes. It’s regrettable because Bastian meant a great deal to the club, he achieved great things. I can only wish Bastian all the best, It will be an interesting task for him.”

Manchester United official website, confirming the news, said:

“Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Bayern Munich to sign midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, subject to a medical and personal terms.

A further announcement will be made when the process is complete.”

As per reports in the Guardian, Bayern Munich have accepted a bid of around A?15m for Bastian Schweinsteiger, with the 30-year-old Germany captain offered a three year contract worth A?140,000 a week.

One of the reasons for the player to be leaving Bayern was rumored to be his strained relationship with Pep Guardiola, but, CEO Rummenigge denited it saying that the player was not leaving because of issues with the manager but because he needed a new challenged.
