Official: Juventus Sign Sami Khedira On A Free Transfer

German midfielder Sami Khedira has officially joined Italian champions Juventus on a free transfer after his contract with Real Madrid came to an end.

Juventus have announced the agreement of a four-year contract with Sami Khedira and the midfielder will join from Real Madrid on a free transfer after his contract with the Spanish giants comes to an end on 30th June 2015. The 28-year old has signed for the Serie A champions till 2019.

Khedira moved to Real Madrid from Vfb Struttgart in 2010 and spent five years at the Spanish club. The midfielder was a first-team regular during Jose Mourinhoa s three-year regime and managed to win La Liga, Copa Del Rey and the Champions League with Los Blancos. However, the German midfielder suffered various injuries in the last two seasons at the club and his contract problems led to a fall in his playing time under Carlo Ancelotti.

The signing has come at a time when speculations about Andrea Pirloa s exit are doing the rounds. As reported, Pirlo is expected to leave Juventus and make a move to MLS club New York City FC. Amidst the reports of the Italiana s exit, Khediraa s signing comes as no surprise. It is also believed that the Italian giants may lose another key midfielder in the form of Paul Pogba to a top European club.

Khedira is a solid defensive midfielder who is good at winning the ball from the opponent. The Germany international covers a lot of ground and can also score goals at times. He is a reliable box-to-box midfielder and is a first-team regular for his national side. The 28-year old was a vital member of the World Cup winning Germany squad in 2014.

Khedira is a solid addition to the Juventus roster. The midfielder will provide balance and can form a great partnership with Arturo Vidal in the middle of the pitch.
