No Offers For Liverpool Target Bacca : Confirms Seville

Seville have insisted that they are yet to receive any official bid for Liverpool FC . transfer target Carlos Bacca.

Carlos Baccaa s future at Seville has come under a lot of speculation this summer. The 28-year-old striker was one of the most prolific strikers in Europe last season. He scored 28 goals in 55 appearances for Seville, which means he has now scored 49 goals in the last two seasons for the Spanish club. Bacca scored a brace in the final of the Europa League against Dnipro Dniprpetrovsk as Seville enjoyed their second European success in as many seasons.

The Colombian international has been a prolific goal scorer throughout his career, and fits the profile of someone Liverpool have been looking to sign this summer. The Merseyside club are in the market for a new striker and have been linked with a move for Bacca. Despite signing Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino, the Reds are still looking for a natural goal scorer.

Seville however are determined to hold on to their prized asset and has insisted that any club interested to sign Bacca, will have to pay A?21.5million buy-out clause in his contract. The striker however is reportedly keen to make move to England and he could prove to be a pivotal signing for Liverpoola s chances of turning their fortune around next season.

Despite all the rumours, Seville sporting director Ramon Monchi has claimed that the club is yet to receive any formal offer from Liverpool, and insisted that the player and his family are happy to remain in Spain.

“We have not received an official offer for Bacca. We are not in negotiations for any important player.

“I’m no fortune teller but top strikers in the market, there aren’t that many. Bacca has averaged 24.5 goals, 21 goals in his first season at the club and 28 in his second.

“I hope no one pays his buy-out clause. It’s a risk we take but we can’t do anything about that.

“We gave him a new contract 10 months ago and I believe he and his family are very happy here. But I cannot predict the future.” a Monchi told the cluba s website.

Baccaa s current contract runs till 2018 and Liverpool are unlikely to be handed any discount by the Spanish club. But the Reds have already made some big statements of intent this summer and Carlos Baccaa s arrival could once again turn them into a force to reckon with, next season.
