While Arsenal FC’s Mesut Ozil has been breaking records for his assists and Jamie Vardy has been on a record breaking scoring streak for Leicester City FC, the statistics show that David Silva is the most effective playmaker this season.

Mesut Ozil may have broken the record for the most games in which a player has consecutively provided an assist and Jamie Vardy may have broken one for the most number of games consecutively scored in, but these record breakers can’t seem to dethrone David Silva as the creative kingpin.

The statistics [via: Goal.com] show that David Silva averages a goal or an assist every 62 minutes he spends on the football pitch — way ahead of third-placed Jamie Vardy (82.6 mins) and joint 6th placed Mesut Ozil (85.9 mins).

Silva is often hailed as the Premier League’s answer to Lionel Messi and the 29-year-old Spanish playmaker is arguably the most creative player in the star studded Manchester City side, and the statistics show that he is the most effective player on the pitch, despite missing a lot of action due to injury.
