New Manchester United star, Memphis Depay might have potentially dropped a huge hint as to who the ‘surprise’ signing is, of whom manager Louis Van Gaal had talked about last week.
The Red Devils manager has been looking to add a new striker to his ranks, and even went on to declare, that the Old Trafford outfit were in the process of signing a ‘surprise striker’, before falling back on his statement, saying that he did not mention the word striker.
Memphis posted a picture of himself with Romelu Lukaku along with a cryptic message
Memphis Depay the new A?31 million recruit from Dutch side PSV, might have revealed who the striker is, whom Van Gaal is looking to bring to the Old Trafford, with an Instagram post, which has Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku in it. The Dutch winger posted a picture of himself with the Everton striker, and captioned the picture, with a potentially cryptic message “see you soon”.

The Red Devils have already signed five players so far this summer, which has taken their spending well over A?80 million, however, the former Chelsea FC striker could be the sixth addition to the squad, as neither Manchester United play Everton any-time soon, nor does the Dutch national team face the Belgians in the recent future. Manchester United play Everton on the 17th of October, which is still a considerable time away from now, and a “see you soon”, could potentially hint at the player’s arrival at Old Trafford.
Romelu Lukaku the secret striker that Manchester United need?
Romelu Lukaku could be tempted by a move to Old Trafford, as he saw his Everton team’s challenge for a Europa League spot fall to pieces last season, and the club finished 11th in the league, a far way out of the European places. Will a guarantee of regular game-time and the possibility of playing in the much coveted Champions League be enough to lure the Belgian striker who was signed by Everton last season, for a club record fee.
Louis Van Gaal is looking to add a striker to his ranks, after he was left with Wayne Rooney as the only senior striker at his disposal, following the departure of Robin van Persie to Fenerbahce and the capture of last season’s flop loan signing of Radamel Falcao by Chelsea FC. Romelu Lukaku has impressed in patches for Everton, and with him being Premier League proven already, Van Gaal might be tempted to take a punt on him.
