As Manchester United prepare to host Liverpool FC at Old Trafford tomorrow in the North-west derby, we bring you the team news from both camps.
Both clubs will be looking to get an early psychological advantage over the other in the race for top four. While Manchester United will be looking to beat Liverpool FC, a draw will not be that bad a result for the Merseysiders.
Liverpool FC team news:
Liverpool will be missing influential playmaker Philippe Coutinho due to suspension following his red card in the 3-0 defeat to West Ham.
The Reds have the option to replace the player with either Jordon Ibe or Danny Ings. Chris Bascombe of the Telegraph reckons that Danny Ings will get the nod to make his first start for Liverpool FC after impressing Brendan Rodgers in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Wolves during the international break. He scored twice in the game for Liverpool.
The other option could be drafting in Adam Lallana but only if the former Southampton captain is available for selection. He still remains a doubt for the game, along with Liverpool FC captain Jordan Henderson.
.
Henderson has not played for Liverpool since the win over Bournemouth due to problem with his heels. The involvement of the England international remains doubtful, but, has not been ruled out yet.
Joe Allen is still out and Daniel Sturridge is back in full training. But the game might be too soon for the forward having returned to training earlier today.
Rodgers was quoted saying by This Is Anfield: a Daniel Sturridge has returned to training, but therea s no timeline on when he can participate.
a Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana wea ll see about in the next 24 hours, apart from that nothing really changes.a
He later added: a Joe Allen is still unavailable but wea ll try to train him next week.a
Manchester United team news:
David De Gea could be back for Manchester United having signed a new deal. He was not a part of any Manchester United XI so far in competitive games with manager Louis van Gaal reluctant to play him because of doubts over the goalkeeper’s mental state. With that sorted, de Gea will surely come back in the squad, right away.
Michael Carrick had picked up a muscular injury in the midweek when away on international duty and will miss the game.
Wayne Rooney may also miss the game because of a possible hamstring injury that meant he was not with the rest of Louis van Gaala s squad when they checked into the team hotel on Friday.
Daley Blind is expected to start in central defence in the absence of Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones.
