Manchester United are set to complete a midfield makeover with double signings of Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton and Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich for a combined fee of A?40million.
The midfield area has been a hotly debated topic among the Manchester United fans and the club are moving ahead with the plans to overhaul it by signing Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin as per reports in BBC and the Guardian.

Reports in the Guardian say that Bayern Munich have accepted a bid of around A?15m for Bastian Schweinsteiger, with the 30-year-old Germany captain offered a three year contract worth A?140,000 a week.

Louis van Gaal believes he is in pole position to make a double move for Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin to strengthen Manchester Uniteda s midfield as he prepares for the summer tour of the US.
The club fly out on Monday to Seattle and the manager is racing against time to try to complete the deals for Bayern Municha s Schweinsteiger and Southamptona s Schneiderlin.
Schweinsteiger had only a year remaining on his contract and had played under the Manchester United manager at the German club between 2009 and 2011, where they enjoyed a strong working relationship with the Dutchman credited to have changed his position from a winger to a central midfield playmaker.
Schweinsteiger has made 536 appearances for Bayern since his debut in 2002.
Meanwhile, Manchester United had made a A?20m offer for Schneiderlin which was rejected by Southampton. Reports suggested that Ronald Koeman, the Southampton manager, valued the Frenchman at A?27m. However, Manchester United believe the player could be acquired for closer to A?25m with Louis van Gaal increasingly confident of getting the deal done for the player who was also chased by Arsenal FC.
There were unconfirmed rumors stating that the player had not been included in the Southampton squad due to face Valencia later today.
