Manchester United – Sammer Doesnai??i??t Rule Out Schweinsteiger Exit

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer remains unsure about the future of Manchester United target Bastian Schweinsteiger. .

Schweinsteigera s current contract with the German champions expires in 2016 and the German international future at the club has come under a lot of speculation this summer. The 30-year-old, who has been at the club since 1998, is no longer a regular in the starting line-up under Bayern manager Pep Guardiola. Reports have linked him with a possible move to Manchester United, as the Red Devils look to bolster their squad this summer.

Bastian Schweinsteiger has made only 15 starts in the Bundesliga last season as his fitness concerns and the arrival of Xavi Alonso has raised question marks over his place in the squad. Guardiola has preferred Alonso in the deep-lying role, which Schweinsteiger fancies, in most of the big matches since his arrival. Now with his contract up for renewal, the German international could possibly look for a move elsewhere in order to start regularly.

The midfielder didna t join his teammates for the first preseason training sessions under Pep Guardiola, and he inevitable faced questions about his future from the press. But Schweinsteiger expressed his desire to prolong his stay at the club and win the Bundeliga once again. Despite this assurance, cluba s sporting director Matthias Sammer remains unsure about the German internationalsa future, and has refused to rule out anything.

“Basically, nothing is excluded. It’s a crazy world.

“He has clearly expressed that he is an important part of the team, but let’s see. We’re still waiting.a a Matthias Sammer said in an interview.

Amidst these Schweinsteiger rumours, Manchester United have also tabled a massive offer for his teammate Thomas Muller, according to reports yesterday. But Muller is perhaps one of the most unlikely players to be linked with Old Trafford this summer, and Bayern wona t entertain any offers for him. Schweinsteiger though is perhaps more dispensable for the reigning Bundesliga champions, although whether United will still pursue his signature if, and when, they manage to sign Morgan Schneiderlin remains to be seen.
