Manchester United have now gone five games without a victory in all competitions, and after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth, it seems as though the fans have seen enough.
Although the club hierarchy is unlikely to make any changes till the end of the season, some Manchester United fans would be happy to see the back of Louis van Gaal sooner rather than later, given the Red Devils’ recent performances and results.
The English giants were the only Premier League team to exit the UEFA Champions League at the group stage after losing to VfL Wolfsburg in midweek, and failed to bounce back from that loss by falling to yet another defeat against Bournemouth on Saturday.
There has been criticism of Louis van Gaal’s approach and the team’s style of play from all quarters of late, and while United were getting results throughout the season, that has changed in recent weeks as well.
Having exited the Capital One Cup and Champions League already this season, the top priority for the club has to be the English Premier League, but it is looking increasingly like the Red Devils will find themselves in a battle for top four rather than the title.
After hundreds of millions of pounds spent, that would be a disappointing outcome, and it is no surprise that fans have begun to express serious doubts about Van Gaal and the direction in which the team is heading at the moment.
Indeed, several United supporters have taken to Twitter to voice their discontent and to demand that Louis van Gaal get the sack, as seen in the tweets below.
