Atletico Madrid are currently on third position in La Liga and coach Diego Simeone believes that more depth in his squad is necessary in order to make a serious assault for the league title next season. Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has struggled to find a fixed role for Juan Mata so far and Atletico Madrid look ready to offer him a way out.

Atletico Madrid signed attacker Alessio Cerci from Torino in last summer but the Italian international failed to prove himself at his new club and the management of Rojiblancos quickly sent him out on loan to AC Milan last month.

However, Atletico Madrid still have the likes of Koke, Arda Turan and Antoine Griezmann, who all can play in the position of Juan Mata. But youngster Koke is attracting the interest of almost all of Europea s top clubs while coach Diego Simeone is also looking to add more depth to his already talented squad and sees Juan Mata as the perfect new addition.

The current situation of Juan Mata at Manchester United is not very encouraging either. The Red Devils splashed a huge cash on new players in the summer of 2014 and coach Louis van Gaal has not found a suitable role for the Spaniard.

Louis van Gaal used Juan Mata on left side of his attack last month but the player failed to impress his coach with series of mediocre displays. Juan Mata has not started in the league for Manchester United since being subbed at half-time at QPR last month and he is increasingly looking unsettled at the club.

Atletico Madrid are aware of this difficult situation of Juan Mata at Manchester United as they are ready to give him new opportunity at the club.

Meanwhile, reports coming from England and Spain have also confirmed the plans of Atletico Madrid to get Juan Mata in summer.

The Sun has claimed in its report that Atletico Madrid are ready to up their interest in Juan Mata by making a bid for the Spaniard. The 26-year-old playmaker only joined from Chelsea a year ago, costing A?37.1 million, but Atleti will test the Manchester United’s resolve to keep him.
