Louis van Gaal seems to be having a lot of problems in the creative department of his team, and there seems to be more bad news for the Manchester United manager, as playmaker Jesse Lingard is doubtful for the crucial match against Leicester City.
The Englishman might have a hamstring issue, according to Daily Mirror. Lingard felt his hamstring tighten was Manchester United’s Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven neared the 90 minute mark.
While a scan was performed on his hamstring on Thursday, it was learnt that the 22-year-old could miss out on Manchester United’s top-of-the-table clash against Leicester City on Saturday.
Van Gaal has been criticised in recent times, for his unimaginative tactics, which has meant that the goals have dried up for his side. Jesse Lingard has been like a breath of fresh air for Manchester United, who have been lacking the creativeness in the final third of the pitch.
Even with world class players like Juan Mata, Memphis Depay, Anthony Martial, and Wayne Rooney, Manchester United have struggled in front of goal. The inclusion of the young Lingard, who has graduated from the club’s youth system has helped get over this problem to some extent.
Van Gaal’s midfield woes
While Lingard is doubtful for Saturday’s game, the scan results did say that there is a 50 per cent chance of the Englishman playing. Perhaps he could even play from the bench.

Van Gaal would certainly be hoping for the 22-year-old to be cleared ahead of the match, as he is a bit light in the midfield department, with Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera both being ruled out due to injury.
