Liverpool FC To Place Fresh Bid For Nathaniel Clyne

Premier League side Liverpool FC have reportedly revived their interest in signing Southampton FC’s English right-back Nathaniel Clyne in the summer.

Southampton had earlier snubbed a A?10million bid of the Reds for the defender. Nathaniel Clyne 24 has one more year left in his present contract with Southampton. The Saints are looking forward to retaining his services.

Liverpool FC have already parted ways with England international Glen Johnson, as a result the Reds are looking forward to rope in another quality full-back who can replace Johnson at the club.

Nathaniel Clyne had a terrific season with Southampton and played in almost every match in the Premier League. In the 35 games, Clyne made 63 interceptions and scored 2 goals. His impressive performance in this season’s Premier League earned him a national team call from England manager Roy Hodgson. Glen Johnson on other hand remained out of favour under Brendan Rodgers for almost half of the season. Brendan Rodgers had changed his formation since January 2015, where Liverpool played in a 3-4-3 formation with three center backs. Thus, Johnson was overlooked for the rest of the season.

Liverpool FC had raided Southampton last season also and acquired the services of three players, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana. Apparently once again Rodgers will be contacting Southampton to strengthen his squad. The Reds have already signed James Milner from Queens Park Rangers.
