Liverpool FC will be boosted by the fact that Daniel Sturridge will be available for the tough trip to Arsenal.
The striker had been a doubt for the game after picking up a hip injury against Manchester United and he returned from England training with reports of a one month long absence on the cards.
It is not certain whether Sturridge will start the game for the Reds, but its great for the Reds that the player can be involved at some point of time.
Raheem Sterling also trained with the squad. He was pictured shaking hands with Brendan Rodgers after his controversial interview with the BBC this week, which has been criticized by fans and pundits. The player looked happy and positive as the side prepared for a must-win clash at Emirates.
Liverpool will be missing Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel who will both be missing the game. Gerrard has suffered a three match ban after getting a straight red for a stamp on Ander Herrera and Skrtel was punished retrospectively following a stamp on keeper David De Gea.
Rodgers remained confident that the team could cope without these two very important players and said, a Wea ve gone into other games this season without important players and still won. It opens the door to someone else and we will go there with real aggression and mentality to get a result.a
Kolo Toure will be the player Rodgers is likely to turn to in the absence of Skrtel and the Ivorian can’t wait for the chance. He said, a If I get the chance to help the team then I will give 100%. I hope I will play but I know there are other good players here who are waiting for their chance as well. All I can do is work hard in training and be ready if the manager needs me.
Meanwhile, a very important boost for the Reds is that they’ve got Lucas Leiva fit to start the game. The Brazilian became undroppable at one point this year but an ill-timed injury blow meant the Reds had to do without his services. In a tough clash like this, the fifth placed side will be more than happy to welcome Lucas into the starting line-up as he will prove to be of immense important protecting the Martin Skrtel less back three against the likes of Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez (among others).
Adam Lallana won’t be involved in the game but Liverpool fans might finally see Jon Flanagan this season, as the youngster could start on the bench.
This game is of too much importance for Brendan Rodgers’s side as anything but a win could well end their Champions League hopes.
Probable Line-up (3-4-2-1): Mignolet; Can, Toure, Sakho; Markovic, Lucas, Allen, Moreno; Coutinho, Henderson, Sterling
