Liverpool target Lacazette prefers to stay in France

Liverpool transfer target Alexandre Lacazette has reiterated his desire to stay back in France with Lyon and has rubbished reports linking him with a move to PSG in an interview with Gazetta dello Sport.

“At Lyon there is everything needed to have another good season,” Lacazette told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Staying in France reduces the risk, especially in the year leading up to the Euro. But all the rumours about PSG are unfounded.”

The 24 year old Frenchman was the Ligue One’s top scorer with 27 goals and only behind Messi and Ronaldo in goals scored among the top five leagues in Europe. Liverpool are in the market for a striker with Christian Benteke as their primary transfer target. Liverpool value Benteke close to 20 million pounds, but, there appears to be a big gap in negotiation as Aston Villa have made it clear that they will not release the player for anything below his 32 million pound release clause.

Lacazette vs Cavani vs Benteke

Lacazette is valued over 30 million pounds by Lyon, has outperformed the likes of Edinson Cavani in the Ligue One and although the Premier League is much tougher than the Ligue One, he has almost double the amount of goal scorer per 90 minutes to Christian Benteke. Besides, in Lacazette, Liverpool have a player who is much more suited to their style of play than Benteke, who does not have a very good injury record, either
