With Suarez's departure, Rodgers now has to fill a huge void.

Liverpool are evidently not just strengthening the senior squad but also making preparations for the future and have completed the signing of 16-year-old midfielder Elijah Dixon-Bonner from Arsenal. The midfielder turned down a new contract at the Emirates.

The youngster took to Instagram to confirm the news.

He said, a I am very happy to announce my signing with Liverpool FC on a long-term deal. I am proud to be joining such a great club and look forward to starting my new journeya .

He becomes Liverpool’s ninth signing of the summer and the third to sign on at Kirkby, following Bobby Adekanye and Brooks Lennon. The Reds are also in for Brazilian midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza.

James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne have signed for Brendan Rodgers’s senior side so far and the work is not complete as yet.
