Liverpool FC Teenage Sensation Jordan Ibe Hoping To Add More Goals To His Game

Liverpool FC teenage sensation Jordan Ibe has insisted that he’s looking to add more goals to his game. The 19-year-old cut short his holidays and returned to pre-season training early under the guidance of none other than Kenny Dalglish himself.

Ibe has had an excellent pre-season, winning rave reviews from his manager and team-mates. Many people have suggested that the 19-year-old could be the replacement for departed winger Raheem Sterling, who was sold to Manchester City for a record fee of A?49 million. The teenager scored a stunning left-footed effort against Malaysia in the pre-season game and is hoping to improve on his finishing.

Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s official website, Ibe was quoted as saying:

“I’m not completely satisfied because I need to keep working on a few things, like my end product – getting the ball and finding someone in the box and trying to add a few more goals to my game.

“I’m quite self-critical. I like to think about things after a game – things I could have improved on, like maybe having taken a shot on or something.”

The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers had advised the 19-year-old to undergo special sessions at the club’s academy complex, where he worked with Alex Inglethorpe and Kenny Dalgish.

.

“I spoke about it with Alex Inglethorpe and the manager had suggested to him that I do some extra sessions to keep myself ticking over during the summer,” said Ibe.

“I’m definitely feeling the benefits of that. All the little bits of extra work add up. I have to give a lot of credit to Alex. It was great to come in and work with someone like Kenny [Dalglish].

“I’ve done some extra training sessions at Melwood as well, so hopefully it’ll all add up for me.”

I’m hoping to add a few more goals to my game – Jordan Ibe

The teenage sensation has been working to improve his end product and wants to achieve a certain level of consistency. Manager Brendan Rodgers has also confirmed that Ibe will ‘feature heavily’ for the club in the 2015-16 campaign.

He continued: “Hopefully it’s going to keep adding up and I’m hoping to add a few more goals to my game.

“I know I’m at a young age, but in my position I need to have an end product. If I’m not getting a goal in a game, then I need to be trying to get an assist for one of my teammates or making sure I have a great game.

“They’re the three things I am working on to try and do regularly. Hopefully I’ll see the benefit from doing that.”

The Wycombe Wanderers youth product has spent two seasons on-loan with Birmingham City and Derby County and would be looking to cement a place in Liverpool FC’s starting line-up this coming season. The 19-year-old has a contract with the club till 2020, however, if the winger realizes his potential, Liverpool FC might find it hard to hold on their prized asset for much longer.
