Liverpool FC have an attacking crisis engulfing them, with Christian Benteke joining Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings on the sidelines with Bournemouth tie in the League Cup looming.

The Reds will be without Benteke, who had just returned from a hamstring injury, for the Bouremouth as well as Chelsea FC clash due to a knee ligament injury.

The news means Liverpool FC will be once again be with only one forward going in the two games, with Danny Ings ruled out for the season and Daniel Sturridge still recovering from his knee injury which he sustained in the training leading up to Spurs game following a collision with Jordon Ibe.

Klopp was quoted saying by the Guardian . : a He can go, he can walk, he can swim but thata s not going to help him playing football. There is fluid in the knee. Not too much a thata s why we can say ita s not serious and we dona t have to think about surgery or things like this a but he needs time.”

The blow to big Belgian comes at a time when the Reds could have done with him, with him having struck a wonderful header to give Liverpool the lead against Saints.

The Belgian is not facing an extended period out, as per the Guardian, but, is a major doubt for the weekend tie against Chelsea FC.

James Milner is also not available due to suspension, and with captain Jordan Henderson out with injury, the German manager will have to select a new captain.

One man who is in line to mark his return to the Reds XI is summer signing Roberto Firmino.

Praising the Brazil star as the best player in the Bundesliga, the German added: a Ia d say a year ago for a few months he was the best player in the Bundesliga for sure.

“When I heard Liverpool took him, I thought: a Good choice.a He needed time when he came in but when hea s in hea s strong with the ball, physically strong, fast in a good football way, gets his body between opponent and ball. So he is an important player for us and I hope he can play tomorrow.a
