Liverpool FC Keen On Rennes Forward Paul-Georges Ntep

Liverpool FC are keen on signing Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep.

The 22 year-old Ligue 1 forward is said to have been observed closely by Liverpool scouts and they are “heavily impressed” with what they saw.

Ntep is reported to have visited Merseyside last week where he checked the cluba s training facilities and according to L’Equipe, traveled to Liverpool’s training base last week for talks with the club about completing a transfer, although his representatives deny such reports.

The left winger has 9 goals and 5 assists this season and his good form has got him the interest of various clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal Manchester United and Manchester City and Liverpool are now thought to be keen on getting the Frenchman of Cameroonian origin to Merseyside next season.

The France Under-21 international, who joined Rennes from Auxerre for around five million euros last January, has long been touted as one of French football’s most promising talents.

Ntep is a winger who uses his pace and direct style of running to surge past players. He prefers playing on the left wing, but can play on the opposite flank and behind the striker.

Liverpool are going to be getting rid of eight-nine players in the summer and Brendan Rodgers is said to be wanting a squad capable of competing at the highest level. Ntep is undoubtedly a great talent and could add to the lethalness of the forward line. His sudden burst of acceleration will make him fit nicely alongside Raheem Sterling (if he were to stay) and Jordon Ibe. If Ntep can continue his Rennes form at Merseyside, he will be a great addition to the side. However, the pressure on the player will be immense after last summer where summer arrivals took their own sweet time to get into the groove of things.
