Liverpool FC have sacked manager Brendan Rodgers, following the 1-1 draw against Everton. The Reds are currently 10th in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Manchester City.
Rodgers took over the reigns as manager at Anfield in 2012 following the departure of Kenny Dalglish. The Northern Irishman guided his team to a second place finish in 2014, his biggest achievement at the club.
But, with poor performances in the last two seasons despite heavy outlay in the transfer market, Rodgers was sacked as the manager. Liverpool FC have won only once in their last nine games and their performances have been dire to say the least.
Liverpool FC fan base were calling for the head of the manager since the 6th placed finish last season and recent disappointing performances did not help the former Swansea manager’s cause.
As Liverpool FC announced the decision of Rodgers’ sacking, fans took to Twitter to express their delight on the departure of the Northern Irishman.
