Liverpool FC Boss Jurgen Klopp Hoping That Philippe Coutinho Injury Is Not Too Serious; Brazilian Set To Undergo Scan

Liverpool FC might have handed out an absolute thrashing to Manchester City, but they would be anxious about the fact that their main playmaker Philippe Coutinho might have to face some time off due to injury.

The Brazilian was brought off after he reportedly suffered a hamstring injury in the 68th minute of the match. While it did not seem like anything major at that point, manager Jurgen Klopp decided to bring him off immediately.

Coutinho is to undergo a scan before the extent of the damage to his hamstring can be ascertained, according to Liverpool Echo.

The Brazilian playmaker has already scored five goals and provided three assists in the Premier League this season, and has been instrumental in the recent resurgence of Liverpool FC under the stewardship of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Decision to take Coutinho off immediately might aid Liverpool FC

While Coutinho’s injury might not have seemed that serious at that moment, it may turn out to be more serious after further tests. However, the fact that Klopp acted immediately to take his star player off might just have saved Liverpool FC and their star Brazilian some lay-off time.

“I hope we got there early enough,” Klopp said to Liverpool Echo. “It was a little bit of cramp. He felt something.

“I hope that’s all it was because everybody can see that he’s very important to us. He’s in really good shape in this moment and I hope we could react early enough.”

At any rate, Coutinho is set to be an important cog in Klopp’s machinery of churning out his brand of “heavy metal football” at Anfield. Hence, he would certainly be hoping that Coutinho’s injury is not too serious.
