Liverpool FC Agree Deal For Roberto Firmino: Confirmed

Liverpool FC have agreed a deal to sign Hoffenheim attacker Roberto Firmino, confirmed Sky Sports.

. SkySports confirmed that Liverpool had agreed a deal for the player with German side Hoffenheim.

The Brazilian has been vehemently linked with the Reds for a few days now and it has been reported on various outlets, English and Brazilian, that a deal for the player was on the cards.

The Brazilian international was reported to be heading to Old Trafford this summer but new reports emerged in the last few days claiming Liverpool are seriously interested in getting Firmino to Liverpool. It now seems to be true as the Reds have apparently sealed a deal for the highly rated Brazilian attacker.

Sky Sports News HQ reporter Dharmesh Sheth said: a This is potentially very good news for Liverpool.

a We understand that they have agreed a deal with Hoffenheim for attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino.

a He is at the Copa America in Chile at the moment, but he has given Liverpool a verbal undertaking that he will join in the next 24 hours.

a Sources in Germany have also told us that the deal is as good as done.

Liverpool ECHO reported earlier today that a Liverpool delegation had met with the player’s representatives in Chile and that the Reds were “hopeful of securing a deal for somewhere between A?25m to A?30m”.

Liverpool needed a signing of this calibre last summer after Luis Suarez was shipped off to Barcelona. A season too late, Firmino’s potential signing for the Reds could have a very positive effect for them. Most importantly, it will come as a statement of intent and ambition from the owners who would have got a player who would add immense quality to the first team immediately.
