Liverpool And Arsenal Will Swoop For Keylor Navas After Player Told Real Madrid He “Wants To Leave”

Liverpool FC will attempt to bring Keylor Navas to Anfield next season as player told Real Madrid he wanted to leave.

Navas joined Real Madrid in the summer after impressing immensely in the World Cup for Costa Rica. The 28-year-old was one of the top performers in Brazil and was in running for the ‘golden glove’. At the time, he was linked with a move to the Premier League. Instead, he opted to join European giants Real Madrid from Levante.

Navas was even linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu in January, when his agent said: “Keylor Navas has told Real Madrid that wants to leave.”

Navas has played just six times this season with Iker Casillas Carlo Ancelotti’s number one. It is understandable for him to be looking to move away from the club as he is far from getting decent time on the pitch. However, Iker Casillas’s future with Los Blancos is also unsure as reports have strongly suggested that the Spain international could be making a move to the Premier League or MLS next season. In case Casillas does move, Navas could be more in the first-team picture. But then there are strong reports of Florentino Perez attempting to bring Manchester United’s David de Gea to the club and if that happened, Navas would surely want to ply his trade elsewhere

According to the Daily Express, Liverpool and Arsenal will make an attempt to sign the Costa Rican next summer and feel they could lure the shot-stopped to England.

Brendan Rodgers had dropped Simon Mignolet earlier in the season after a poor start to the campaign. The Belgian international has been in good form after being restored in the team but Liverpool surely need another goalkeeper next season because Mignolet needs competition and Brad Jones is not a good enough deputy as well.

Arsenal manager Wojciech Szczesny has also found himself dropped and David Ospina has currently taken his place. The Colombian has done pretty well himself and Szczesny’s future with the Gunners has been questioned since. Therefore Arsenal have also been suggested to be looking at shot-stoppers.

Arsenal and Liverpool could both offer the 28 year old, more game-time than he is getting at the moment and both need goalkeeper additions to the squad.
