Leicester City Can Win The Premier League, Says Manchester United Boss Louis Van Gaal

Leicester City have won many admirers this season, and Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is someone who firmly believes that the Foxes can win the Premier League this season.

.

The Foxes have been brilliant this season, going to the top of the Premier League after 13 matches. This is an incredible achievement for Leicester, who were rock bottom of the league at this stage last year.

“It [Leicester winning the Premier League] is possible, I think,” van Gaal was quoted saying in BBC.

However, the Manchester United boss did acknowledge that the area that the teams like Leicester City lack is at the fag end of the season.

“Normally these kind of clubs can compete for long time, then at the end it becomes more difficult,” he said. “But in England because of the quality of the teams, because every team has the money to buy players – and they have bought players – the difference in the Premier League between the clubs is not so high.”

Vardy, a “nasty” player for Manchester United, says van Gaal

“Nasty” is not an adjective often used to praise someone, but that is exactly what van Gaal seems to have done.

Regardless of van Gaal’s aptitude in English, the Dutchman seems to have gotten it spot-on, as Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has been an absolute menace for his side, in the past.

Well, this time round he comes to the Old Trafford, knowing that he has been “nasty” for the rest of the teams as well, scoring a goal each in the last 10 consecutive games.

“He was already a very nasty player for us last year,” said van Gaal. “He scores, he provoked a penalty, now scoring 10 goals in a row, he is a great player. I only know Dennis Bergkamp as a player who did the same with Ajax. It’s not so easy to do that.”
