Adam Lallana - Liverpool FC midfielder |

Having dealt comfortably with Burnley in midweek, Liverpool’s Adam Lallana has warned his club to be wary of Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

Liverpool won 2-0 on Wednesday and will be looking to reach Wembley for the semi-finals with a great chance to win England’s most prestigious cup competition after almost a decade as one of Manchester United or Arsenal will be bowing out on Monday night.

But the former Southampton man has urged his side to give it their all against the Championship side.

a It is a great competition in which we have a great chance of getting to Wembley in the semi-final,a he said.

a We wona t underestimate Blackburn, we will dust ourselves down, recover well and go again Sunday.”

a A lot of the big guns went out in the early rounds so it is good that we can maybe capitalise on that but Blackburn will not be an easy game.”

a They will come here full of optimism and will want to cause an upset.a

a Beating Burnley was a massive win and not just that, off the back of the effort we put into the match against City it was a potential banana skin but the lads put on a professional display,a the England international said.

a We were brilliant in the first half and could have been two or three up and we got the goal early in the second half and it was comfortable in the last half-hour.”

a We have a great rhythm and a good bit of consistency and are keeping clean sheets as well; wea ve turned a corner since Christmas and we are really looking good.

a It was a difficult start but all the signings have bedded in now and we have players back fit and we have found a system, we are playing really well and are causing teams problems.”

a Confidence is a big thing in any team and we have that in abundance and I think it is showing.a

Speaking about Jordan Henderson’s performances of late, he said, “Jordan is unbelievable as he has matured as a player over the last two seasons and he has kicked on another level even with the armband.”

a I was lucky enough to be captain at Southampton and it does give you that little bit extra and it seems it is doing the same to him.”

a It is great to be playing with such good players and the results are on the up.a

a Ia ve had a few injuries and been in and out of the team for whatever reason but I am thoroughly enjoying it at the minute; staying fit and contributing in the system the manager has got us playing,a he said.
