Kovacic Denies Liverpool FC Rumours Amidst Protest From Inter Fans

Mateo Kovacic has denied rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool FC as Inter Milan fans launch online protest against the club.

Mateo Kovacica s future at San Siro has been the subject of massive speculation this summer with the 21-year-old being linked with a move to Liverpool. The Croatian international became a regular fixture in the starting line-up since his arrival in 2013 and has made tremendous progress in the last two seasons.

The youngster, who is considered to be one of the best young midfield talent in Europe, has been scouted by the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and Wolfsburg since his arrival in Italy. But it was Liverpool who were thought to be favourites to sign him this summer. The Merseyside club will need to bolster their squad in this transfer window following their miserable campaign last season. After the departure of Steven Gerrard, they also need to find a replacement for him at the center of the park.

There has been contradicting reports regarding Kovacic in English and Italian media. While initial reports suggested that a deal has been agreed between both the clubs regarding the transfer, recent reports state that Inter are unwilling to sell their starlet. The club president has gone on record to deny these rumours amidst protest from Inter fans on social media.

Inter fans were so concerned about the possible departure of Kovacic that they have launched a hashtag #SaveKovacic on twitter, along with online petitions to the cluba s management. Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano and Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio have confirmed that Inter are willing to part ways with Kovacic this summer.
