Klopp Won’t Take Sabbatical If Liverpool Offer Him The Job: Bild

Jurgen Klopp’s name has been associated with Liverpool FC for a while now and German newspaper Bild seems to suggest that the German is very interested in coming to manage the Premier League side.

With Brendan Rodgers’s future looking extremely shaky at the moment, managers are continuously being linked with a potential Liverpool managerial job but the name which has done the rounds the most is Jurgen Klopp’s. Klopp announced that he will be quitting Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.

Bild claimed just a couple of days back that Klopp will a (take) at least half a yeara s breaka once he leaves the Bundesliga side. This sounded a bit strange as Klopp himself said, when asked about a potential sabbatical on the day of his announcement:

I am not tired. I may look tired but I am not. I am 0.0% tired. I havena t had any contact with any other clubs but am not planning a sabbatical, though it could of course be that I have to take one, or whatever a free half-year is called, I dona t know.

The paper has now backtracked on their initial reports and stated that Klopp would be very interested in a move to England and Liverpool are the club that can change his mind this summer. The 47 year-old is said to be in awe of the club and its supporters. Bild has especially stated that the emotional Klopp identifies/will identify with the passion of the Liverpool supporters. They’ve also mentioned the club’s anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” (Dortmund also sing it) in their report.

More importantly, the report has stated that there are going to be a lot of changes at the club in the summer – Steven Gerrard leaving, Mario Balotelli perhaps also being sold – which could mean that Klopp will have the chance to build his own team.

To sum up, the report seems to suggest that if Liverpool were to make a move in the summer, Klopp will be interested.

There were reports some days back that Rodgersa s position as Liverpool manager was safe despite a poor season and a horrible 6-1 finish to end it.

While these were not conclusive reports on Rodgersa s future at Liverpool, the fact that most media outlets in England were breaking this suggests there might have been some indication from some source at the club. However, the media seemed reassured days before Kenny Dalglisha s sacking so it remains certain that nobody knows the fate of the manager other than the owners. Therefore it will be wise to not get carried away with any such reports and only once an official announcement comes out from somewhere, will people know certainly of what is going to happen at the club.

Needless to say though, with the availability of top class managers like Klopp and Ancelotti, Brendan Rodgersa s future is currently on thin ice.
