Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp is targeting more goals from other departments as the attackers injury list at Anfield bloats up.
Liverpool FC have had wretched luck when it comes to their attacking players. Danny Ings is out for the rest of the season having got injured when he was just about settling in at Anfield. Daniel Sturridge’s injury refuses to subside, with Christian Benteke also missing games on regular intervals. The latest one to bite the dust is Divock Origi, who damaged his hamstring in the 1-0 win over Leicester City.

Klopp wants more goals from all over the pitch
Klopp, realising the frailties of the attackers on his team, has urged his side to come up with more goals from other areas of the field.
He was quoted as saying by the Guardian: a If you dona t have enough goals, you always have to talk and think about how you can bring the others in position to score goals.
a We have such quality that we have to use this. We have our moments when we are shooting and we have a little bit of bad luck. For example, Adam has had some situations where he could have had goals but we are working on this. It is always about more in these situations.
“You cannot wait for just one chance and then you will make it. It is not like this. We have to always be in position. We try to improve. We know about this. It is the truth. To be more dangerous from all positions is a big target for us.a
Klopp bemused by Lovren bashing
Dejan Lovren has been a much maligned figure at Anfield, and for good reason. Having started decently in his first few games, Lovren was back to hara-kiri when he gifted a goal to West Ham in the Reds’ first loss of the Premier League season.
The Croat is error-prone and is constantly bashed by the Liverpool FC faithfuls for the same, which even led him to delete his instagram account.
Expressing his surprise at the impression among the supporters of Lovren not being good enough, Klopp said:
a I only heard about it, that supporters or whoever were not too happy with the performance of Dejan when he came here. But I cana t say anything about this since Ia ve here.
a He gets better and better thata s the truth and he can show how strong he is. Ia m not surprised about this, because I knew about his qualities. I was a little bit surprised about what everybody told me about him.
a Ia m happy for him and ita s very important that he stays fit and trains, and that we defend as a team like we did, so ita s easier for the centre halves.”
Liverpool FC take on Sunderland later tonight, and the Reds’ faithful will hope that Lovren maintains his current solid form, which is exactly what’s missing in the Croat who is highly inconsistent and is prone to errors.
With an injury to Martin Skrtel, and Mamadou being the second most fragile player in the squad next to only Daniel Sturridge, it is vital that Lovren’s morale remains high and the player is focused to deliver his best.
